MANCHESTER FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH CONTACT PAGE
If you require quotation please contact me by using either of the following links. Owing to the large numbers of inquiries received, it is impossible to answer every casual request for free advice and help. If I did I would not get any work done! Try using a search engine, if that does not help, search the catalogue of the repository in the area you are researching e.g. http://www.dswebhosting.info/manchester/DServe.exe?dsqApp=Site11&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqCmd=Search.tcl
Having difficulties purchasing BMD certificates and wills etc because a Sterling payment is required? If necessary I can purchase such items as long as you can make a payment to me via PayPal.
mail@manchester-family-history-research.co.uk (MFHR)
I can also be contacted by mail at the following address: G J Lodge 16 St Austell Dr Heald Green Cheadle SK83EG Cheshire The very low value of the pound sterling makes my rates even better value than ever for overseas clients. Manchester Family History Research offers a research service that will search archive materials, microfilms, microfiche or other printed sources held at any of the repositories in the northwest of England. Besides researching family history topics & social & economic history of the region including prisons, workhouses, industrial schools, court records especially for the Salford Hundred, rate books, electoral rolls, and newspapers, MFHR can also provide palaeography and transcription services, companies, buildings and house histories and research for legal enquiries. Hourly and daily rates are available on request. Payment in advance is required. Unlike some of the repositories research services there is no maximum to the number of hours research supplied. If you are not local to the area the costs of MFHR's research charges more than outweigh going to the trouble and cost of making travel and hotel arrangements and therefore can be a much more cost effective option. The work is undertaken by a researcher who has been involved in family history research since 1993. Further information will be sent on first enquiry regarding copyright. WHAT THE CHARGES DO NOT INCLUDE The cost of Certificates, the cost of more than two photocopies, postage and packing and digital images. Most repositories charge £5 per half a day for photographing documents which is chargeable to the client. Digital images are charged at £2.50 per image. This charge reflects the time it takes to upload the images as email attachments provided by the high quality 8.1 megapixel camera that is used. WHAT HAPPENS IF NOTHING IS FOUND Research is not an exact science and unfortunately success can not be guaranteed. Every effort using methodical, thorough and exhaustive research will be made to find some information for clients, but not all records have survived. You will still be charged for the time spent researching even if nothing is found.
